So you want to take your little one to Disney? First off don't let those who think "they won't even remember it" keep you from taking the trip. Sure, they might not remember it but you definitely will and it will 100% be worth it. My husband and I have easily done 10+ trips to Disney with just us and with family but taking a 6 month old was going to be a different ball game. I wanted to make a list of what we took and offer some tips that helped up for our first trip.
Extra tip for my girl mamas, 100% recommend the ears that are pictured to the left for baby. This pair that I got was $8.99 but the price ranges depending on the style you want! The band is really stretchy and soft. They didn't seem to bother her at all except when they fell over her eyes. They actually stayed on pretty well and I think we will be able to use them multiple times even when she gets older! There are a ton of other options that for ears that are very cute. Baby Care Center
Make sure to know where these are located at the park before you go. These centers are fully staffed and have a lot of helpful amenities for both toddlers and infants. The use of the baby center is complimentary. It does have an on-site shop where you can buy wipes, diapers, formula, etcetera if you forget anything! It can also be used as a quiet place during fireworks if you have a little one that gets overstimulated.
- Private nursing rooms with rocking chairs
- Changing room with tables
- Kitchen with microwave and sink
- Main room with TV, table and seating
- On-site shop that offers formula, baby food, juice, diapers, wipes, sunscreen, clothes & medicine
Stroller
There are a few different options for strollers when it comes to Disney. You can bring your own, rent from an outside company or rent from Disney. Depending on how you are traveling (flying or driving) or how far, you might not want to lug your personal stroller. Make sure to make your stroller stands out! If you've been to Disney you know there are strollers everywhere and many of them look a like. A tip that I used was to bring the battery powered Christmas lights and wrap them around the handle bar. It made finding our stroller at night just a little bit easier.
Slumberpod
Disney will provide you with a pack n play if aviaible. When you make your reservation you are able to mark needing a crib or when you get to your hotel you can also ask for a crib. They will deliver it straight to your room and provide a sheet. If your little one has certain sheets or a lovey, make sure to bring that too! We also brought our two travel sound machines. (Yogasleep and Frida sound machines) This way we could always charge one while using one. We also recommend the Slumberpod. It is a blackout tent and you can find it on amazon for $179.99. I promise you it is worth the money! It was a game changer for us as we were able to put our daughter to sleep but still be up and moving around. We were even able to keep the TV on and she slept just as well as she does at home.
